Course Description: This course provides strategies to perform data transfer among software programs. Emphasis is placed on data interchange among word processors, spreadsheets, presentations graphics, databases, and communications products. Upon completion, students should be able to integrate data to produce documents using multiple technologies.
COURSE COMPETENCIES:
The student will:
1. Be able to integrate Word and Excel documents.
2. Be able to merge data between Access and Word.
3. Be able to export an Access table to Excel.
4. Be able to insert a Word outline into a PowerPoint presentation.
5. Be able to embed a Word table into a PowerPoint slide.
6. Be able to embed an Excel chart into a PowerPoint slide.
COURSE METHODOLOGY:
1. LECTURE/DISCUSSION/DEMONSTRATION: The instructor will present information relevant to the course at all class meetings except for test days. Functions and proper procedures for equipment and software will be explained. Students will take notes to use when completing lab assignments.
2. LAB: Students will complete exercises to improve proficiency with the software package. Completion of lab assignments may require time outside of class. The instructor will be available to provide assistance during lab time.

Final grades for the course will be determined as follows:
Tests 75%
Labs 20%
Class participation 5%

1. You are expected to attend each scheduled class. Attendance is considered in the 5% class participation grade. You are permitted 3 absences for any reason without penalty. The instructor reserves the right to drop or lower the final grade of any student who misses more than 5% (5 days) of the scheduled classes.
Final grades will be computed on the following basis:
93-100 A
85-92 B
77-84 C
70-76 D
Below 70 F
